The Story
A couple of years back I decided to expand my education. Armed with my undergraduate degree and years of work experience I was ready to venture into a Master’s program. Having always been interested in geography, history, human rights and politics, I decided to pursue one in International Affairs. But, unlike any other academic undertaking I wasn’t going to beat the textbooks dead, but I wanted to have a well-rounded journey. It was going to be an international affair by itself.

My route for an education wasn’t just that of taking classes or completing projects. I decided to take time out (including a gap year) to visit 60 countries during the three-year program. Knowing that the thesis part of the program could be done out of my independent readings through my laptop, I took the chance to get a better perspective of our world and gain an independent education that would become one of the best decisions I ever made.
The Blog
Now that I got the Master’s diploma out of the way last summer, I have more room to roam. These trips have given me a different angle of the world as we know it. I have collected many experiences and knowledge throughout the tumultuous quest to catapult myself into unimaginable corners of our red earth. Therefore, I thought it would be necessary not only to share the experience, but also to create somewhat of a public diary of them. Although this blog will concentrate mainly on the advent of tourism from the region, it will heavily feature things I have seen, pictures taken, hotels and destinations I have stayed at and general tidbits throughout, albiet with inclusions of places I want to go and/or experiences I want to have. I hope this journey is as enjoyable to you as it is to me.
The Gist
Flight965.com has been live since the 10th January 2011. I chose the launch to occur now because I wanted to have a steady ground of supporters and readers in order to give the blog a platform from which to propel itself. Right now, the blog is doing perfectly and progressing on daily basis and I wanted the kind of viewership to substantiate the launch.
