10 Fabulous Things You Must Do In Vaduz, Liechtenstein!
- Stay at the premium Suite in Residence Hotel. If you could, try to stay at the top suite in the residence hotel, it has ceiling windows right above the bed overlooking the main castle. Yes, it’s filled with whimsy.
- Do the Solar System Walk by the Rhine River. Strut by the river, which is also the country’s borders, and hit every marker that signifies a planet in our solar system with a fact sheet attached!
- Go to McDonalds. You thought this one would never be on here, did you? Well, Vaduz’s McDonalds is probably the most organized and cleanest fast food restaurant you will be going to. Also, they serve beer with the meals!
- Visit Vaduz Castle. Yes, its just a little trek, but its a wonderful place to go if you are into the glory of Monarchy. It also gives you a great view of the city.
- Go Souvenir shopping. Because the city is so small, the few souvenir shops are well equipped and impressive. Check out the collection of home clocks and swiss army knifes.
- Get a passport stamp from the tourist office. Since this little country’s borders are open and it has no airport, its hard to get a stamp of the country. However, the tourism board has made it possible to do so at the tourist office in the city center.
- Drink Liechtenstein wine! Yes, it might be a microstate, but it does have vineyards. Try out a variety of white, rose and red wines they have and can be purchased at any store.
- Visit Kunstmuseum! If you are a fan of the modern arts like us, you must visit this museum. It’s small, but it packs the punch.
- Ski across borders. If you like to slip and slide, take your equipment and go skiing in the east mountain. But, be careful if you slip, you might end up in Austria.
- Befriend a Liechtensteiner / Liechtensteinerin. In destinations that are small in population it’s always good to befriend someone that lives there in order to get the full grasp of how people live and what the town has to offer.
