You probably didn’t know this, but I have been wanting to go to Liechtenstein for ages now. Partially because I was always interested in microstates ever since I picked up a world atlas when I was young. Also, because I happened to do a part of my Master’s thesis on this nation, which means I had done extensive research on its politics, history and culture without even being there.
As I expected, my visit to its tiny capital, Vaduz, was a splendid experience. It’s the type of trip that you can never plan until you go there. The minuscule nature of the country makes it a cozy and interesting destination. The downtown area is a few a line of a few buildings surrounding a living room-sized square. The people are so nice and curious as to what brings you to their country, generally speaking. It was a great idea for a trip and I look forward to visiting again.
