Spain seeks to increase the number of Kuwaiti tourists to it from 16,000 to 19,000 by the advent of next year, said Angel Losada, Spanish ambassador in Kuwait, at a press conference he held here today. Accompanied by representatives from Kuwaiti and Spanish travel agencies, he said that tourism officials in Spain wanted this increase in the number of Kuwaiti tourists to occur in cooperation with the Turkish Airlines, which runs daily flights to the Spanish city of Malaga via the Turkish city of Istanbul.
Last year, he said, the Spanish embassy in Kuwait issued over 14,000 entry visas to Kuwaiti tourists, hoping that more Kuwaiti businesspeople would visit his country for investment purposes, now that Kuwait and Spain have signed mutual agreements on eliminating double taxation and protecting investments.
